STATEMENT TO THE COMMUNITY:

Harvest Community Fellowship first started in 2006. The mission statement of Harvest is simple; Together we become complete and fulfilled by wholeheartedly loving God and serving others in order to bring God’s love to the community. Harvest has accomplished this goal through numerous community outreach programs.

Even a church who has accomplished many great things for its members and the community can be set back when individuals lose sight and direction from God’s way. We acknowledge that while our focus was to extend grace to all, we also placed too much emphasis on grace without understanding its true meaning.

Our senior pastor recently resigned due to an immoral relationship with a woman from our church. Furthermore, the Board requested and received the resignation of our interim pastor after recently discovering he withheld information that would have proved helpful and prompted follow-up much sooner. Though the intentions of the interim pastor were good, his keeping this information from the Board delayed taking action regarding the senior pastor – to concede his wrongdoing and to seek forgiveness, repentance, and restoration.

We are sad because these actions have caused some members to leave as they felt Harvest went down the wrong path guided by a very strong-willed man. We apologize to them, to any churches affected and to the community for not recognizing this earlier. We apologize and ask for your forgiveness because as a Church, we allowed the Pastor to lead the church in a wrong direction.

In spite of this, many folks came to know Jesus through Harvest and their lives changed for the better! We are committed to see them grow in His love. There are many devoted Christians at Harvest who are determined to restore Harvest in the eyes of the Lord and this community. Harvest will emerge from this setback stronger and better able to attain victory for the Lord. Harvest’s mission remains strong and we will continue to collaborate with other churches to serve our community.

The Board is working diligently to move forward to ensure that we follow the path that Christ would have us follow. Please pray that God’s church emerges victorious!
